Venue History - The Brighton Centre is a large conference centre located in Brighton, East Sussex. The capacity of the main hall for conferences is 4,500 and 5,100 for standing concerts.  It also has some smaller rooms for receptions, weddings, banquets etc.  As well as hosting large business conferences, entertainment events, and regular records & comics sale events, the Centre is known for regularly hosting the conferences of the major United Kingdom political parties.  The main hall was once also the home venue of former professional basketball team Brighton Bears, which folded in 2006. Basketball will return to the  Brighton Centre in 2008 with the addition of Brighton Cougars to the British Basketball League.
